Connect and view calendar

What is it?

Planning your work for the day is so much easier when done around your calendar events. Whether you have business meetings coming up or personal commitments scheduled for the day, connecting your calendar to My Day will allow you to better design your day and make room for important tasks. Keep track of your calendar items right from the main view or expand your full day from the calendar tab.

Who has access?

How does it work?

  • View calendar events straight from My Day
  • Open the full event details by clicking on an item
  • You can select what calendar events you would like to view.
  • You can enable calendar notifications to get them directly from your browser

How to open/connect your calendar

✔️ Web

  1. Open My Day view from the left menu.
  2. Press the blue “Connect” option OR Open the suggestion menu from the right side, press on the Events tab and connect from there.
  3. From there you can access the Calendar events.

Or

  1. Open the settings menu from the top left settings icon/ profile image next to your profile name.
  2. Click on “Calendars”.
  3. Press “Connect”.

Note: On the desktop versions at this time you can only connect directly your google account to learn how to view other calendar events see the calendar setup page.

✔️ Android (soon)/ iOS

  1. Open the My Day view.
  2. Tap on the gray arrow next to the My Day title.
  3. Select “Open settings”.
  4. Select “Allow” to give Any.do access to your device’s native calendar.
  5. Your device’s native calendar will now appear in your Calendar View.

Or

  1. Open the home menu.
  2. Go to your Calendar View (right bottom of the menu).
  3. Select “Open settings”.
  4. Select “Allow” to give Any.do access to your device’s native calendar.
  5. Your device’s native calendar will now appear in your Calendar View.

How to manage visible calendars and notifications

To manage visible calendars:

✔️ Web

  1. Open the settings menu from the top left settings icon/ profile image next to your profile name.
  2. Click on “Calendars”.
  3. Change events you want to see as “on” and ones you don’t as “off”.

✔️ Android/ iOS

  1. Open the Calendars Menu by clicking on the top left corner of the screen.
  2. Check off whichever calendars you want Any.do’s Calendar View to include. You can change this back at any point in time.

To enable notifications:

✔️ Web

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Set ‘Event Reminders’ or ‘Desktop Notifications’ to ON / OFF.

How to add additional Google calendars

✔️ Web

Integrating your google account can be done directly in the web app. In order to view other google calendars in the web version, you can subscribe to other google calendars from your google account settings.

  1. Open google calendar.
  2. On the left, next to “Other calendars,” click + and select “Subscribe to calendar”.

  1. Enter your device’s Settings –> Accounts
  2. Select to add a new google account.
  3. Add your calendar’s credentials.

✔️ iOS 

  1. Enter your device’s Settings –> Calendar ->Accounts
  2. Select to add a new google account.
  3. Add your calendar’s credentials.

How to integrate other calendar clients

✔️ Android/ iOS

  1. Enter your device’s Settings – Accounts or Settings –> Calendar -> Accounts.
  2. Add your calendar’s credentials.
  3. Ensure this calendar is made visible in your Calendar View.

✔️ Web/ Windows/ Mac

Integrating an Outlook calendar: 

Integrating your Outlook account can be done directly in the web/ desktop app.

  1. Go to Settings -> Calendar.
  2. Select “Connect” next to the Microsoft Outlook.
  3. Login to your Outlook Account.

In order to view other calendars in the web version you can subscribe to other calendars from your google\outlook account settings.
After you subscribe to other calendars you will see them under your google\outlook account in the “other calendar” section and be able to view them in Any.do.

Subscribing an iCloud calendar: 

Firstly you will need to get the public URL of the calendar.

  1. Open the iOS calendar.
  2. Click on the “Calendar” icon.
  3. Under the iCloud calendar section, click on the Info button (i) to the right of the calendar you’d like to make available in Google Calendar.
  4. Enable “Public Calendar”.
  5. Click on the “Share Link”.
  6. Open google calendar.
  7. On the left, next to “Other calendars,” click + and select “From URL”.

How to join a Zoom/ Google Meet video call from an event link

✔️ Web / Windows/ Mac

  1. Open an event that has a video call link from the calendar in the My Day view.
  2. Choose “Join by video” or “Join by phone” option.

✔️ Android/ iOS

  1. Open an event that has a video call link from the Calendar view.
  2. Tap on the link to join.

Note: You can add video call links to events on the mobile app.

  1. Open an event
  2. Tap on edit.
  3. In the notes section add the video call link.
  4. Save the event.

How to disconnect/ reset your calendar

✔️ Web

  1. Open the settings menu from the top left settings icon/ profile image next to your profile name.
  2. Click on “Calendars”.
  3. Press “Disconnect”.

To connect a different google calendar account:

  1. From any desktop browser open this page. Then, simply remove Any.do’s calendar permission.
  2. Go back to “My Day” and connect a different calendar.

✔️ Android

  1. Open your device Settings.
  2. Navigate to “Apps and Notifications”.
  3. Press “App info” and then “Any.do”.
  4. Press “Permissions” and disable the calendar permission.

✔️ iOS

  1. Open your device Settings.
  2. Press “Any.do”
  3. Disable the calendar permission.

To modify calendars colors

✔️ Web/ Windows/ Mac

Any.do imports the calendar colors provided by Google. Often times, Google applies post-processing to the colors on their client, which can result in slight alterations within the app. At this time, there is no option to alter the calendar colors within the app on desktop, though you may modify them from your Google calendar settings
