Account Preferences

What is it?

Any.do is here to help you improve your productivity and user experience. You can customize the app to best fit your needs. Whether it is setting what day is the beginning of your week, choosing the language of the app, changing your default List or Calendar and more.  In addition, you can customize the app to best fit your preferences. Whether it is setting the theme, notification sound, background and more. 

Who has access?

  • Both Premium and Free users can take advantage of this feature!

How does it work?

  • You can set your account preferences directly from the app settings.
  • To adjust Any.do to your region and culture, you can set the language, first day of the week and time zone.
  • Easily customize your home view, which is the first screen when opening the app (Calendar or Task views).
  • Set your default calendar, default list, reminder sounds, background color and app theme, grocery list, and the widget view.

General Settings

 

To set the first day of the week

Setting the first day of the week will determine on what day your week starts for both the calendar display and the reminder-settings. 

✔️ Android/ iOS

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Next to ‘First Day’ toggle the days written in blue to your preferred day.

✔️ Web/ Windows/ Mac

The Web/Desktop is the only platform in which you can manually edit your task time settings, set your time zone and date format. 

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Click on ‘Time Settings’.
  3. Change the settings for ‘Time Formate, ‘Date Settings’ and ‘Week starts on’ according to your locale date and time.

To change the Language

Customize the app to your preferred language by selecting between one of our 30+ available translations. 

✔️ Android/ iOS/ Web/ Windows/ Mac

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap on ‘Language’ and choose the preferred language.

If you would like to use the same language when using the voice input feature, please check the option ‘Same for voice input’.


To set the Theme

Setting the theme will determine the color of lists’ titles, as well as the app’s settings and buttons. 

✔️ Android/ iOS

  1. Go to settings.
  2. Next to ‘Theme’ choose your preferred color. On Android you can also set the Dynamic Theme .

✔️ Web/ Windows/ Mac

  1. Go to settings.
  2. Next to ‘Theme’ choose your preferred mode ‘Auto’ / ‘Light’ / ‘Dark’.
  3. Under ‘Backgrounds’ select your preferred background option.

Tasks Settings

 

To set the Default List

The default list is the list to which tasks will be added by default when created. Please note that the Alexa list can’t be set as a default list.

✔️ Android/ iOS/ Web/ Windows/ Mac

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap on ‘Default List’ and choose the preferred list.

To set the Daily Planner

The Any.do Moment feature is currently available on the mobile apps only. You can set when you would like it to pop, so you can manage your day.

✔️ Android/ iOS

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap on ‘Any.do Moment’.
  3. Set your preferences, mark the days and times for your reminder.

To allow the clear Completed Tasks with a Shake

This option allows you to clear your completed tasks by shaking your mobile device.

✔️ Android/ iOS

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Set Shake to ON.

To change the Reminder/ Notification sound

Setting the Reminder and Notification sound allows you to easily detect your Any.do alerts, so you never miss a single event or task. 

✔️ Android/ iOS

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap on Notification Sounds.
  3. Choose the preferred sound for each category of notifications.

Please note that in some devices, the device provider blocks this option.


To allow/ hide the Smart Grocery List

This setting allows you to choose if you would like to see the Smart Grocery List icon at the top of your Tasks View.

✔️ Android/ iOS

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Toggle the Smart Grocery List to On / Off per your preference.

To show/hide completed tasks on the Widget

This feature allows you to choose if you would like to see your swiped tasks on the Widget.

✔️ Android/ iOS

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Set ‘Show completed tasks’ to ON / OFF.

Calendar Settings

 

To set the Default Calendar

The Default Calendar is the calendar to which all your events are automatically associated upon creation, unless changed.

✔️ Android/ iOS/ Web/ Windows/ Mac

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap on ‘Default Calendar’ and choose the preferred calendar.

To manage Event Reminders

This option allows you to choose if you would like to receive notifications from Any.do about future events. On the desktop app, this function is called “Desktop Notifications”.

✔️ Android/ iOS/ Web/ Windows/ Mac

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Set ‘Event Reminders’ or ‘Desktop Notifications’ to ON / OFF.

Native Mobile Settings

 

To manage your Badge settings

The Badge allows you to see how many tasks are due today by only looking at the app’s icon and without opening it.

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Set the preferred list under the Badge option.

To enable the Siri and the Apple Reminders integration

Tasks added with Siri will be added to the Apple reminders app, and then sync to the ‘Apple Reminders’ list under your Any.do account.

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Enable ‘Siri & Reminders sync’.

To show the Quick-add bar (Android)

The Quick-add bar allows you to add tasks from the notifications area on your device, and to review your scheduled tasks.

✔️ Android

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Toggle the Quick-add bar option to “Show” or “Hide”.
