Board tasks are central to collaboration. Whether you're planning a family trip or coordinating a project with your team, these tasks help you stay on track, assign responsibilities, and make progress visible to everyone involved. You can create new tasks, organize them across sections, assign teammates, set reminders, and easily update them as your plans evolve. Everything is built for flexibility, so you can focus on moving work forward without friction.

✍️ How to Create Board Tasks

You can create new tasks within any section of a board to track individual work items, assign responsibilities, and set due dates.

💻 On Web/Desktop

  1. Open a specific board from the sidebar.

  2. Click "+ Add task" under any section.

  3. Type the task title.

  4. Press "Add."

💡 You can also assign, add a due date, or tag a task from the toolbar above the input field.

📱 On Android/iOS

  1. Open a board from the home screen.

  2. Tap the "+" icon next to the section title or use the bottom input.

  3. Type the task name and tap "Done."


📝 How to Edit or Archive Board Tasks

Tasks can be updated at any time, and those that are no longer needed can be archived to keep your boards clean.

💻 On Web/Desktop

  • Open the task to edit it, or click the 3-dot menu next to the task title.

  • Select "Archive" from the quick actions menu or from the 3-dots menu inside the task itself.

📱 On Android/iOS

  • Open the task to edit any details.

  • OR Tap the 3-dot menu => select "Archive."


↔️ How to Move Tasks Between Sections or Boards

If your task priorities change, you can quickly move tasks to different sections or even transfer them to another board.

🔁 Move Between Sections (All Platforms)

  • Drag and drop to a new section.

  • Or open the task and use the "Change Section" arrow.

→ Move to a Different Board (Web/Desktop only)

  1. Open the task.

  2. Click the section name, then select "Move to."

  3. Choose the new board and section.

Note: At this time, moving a personal-task to a board can only be done through the web/desktop apps.


🔄 How to Duplicate Board Tasks (Web/Desktop Only)

Use this option to create an exact copy of a board task and place it elsewhere—perfect for recurring processes or similar tasks.

  1. Click the 3-dot menu next to the task title.

  2. Select "Duplicate."

  3. Choose the target board and section.

💡 Task content (notes, checklist) will copy over.


🔗 How to Share Board Task Links (Web/Desktop Only)

Each board task has its own shareable link that makes it easy to collaborate or reference tasks in chats or emails.

  1. Click the 3-dot menu or right-click the task.

  2. Select "Copy link."

  3. OR open the task itself and choose "copy link" from the 3-dots menu.

  4. Paste anywhere to share with board members.


🔆 How to Add Board Tasks to My DayTo add a board-task to My Day

Easily pull board tasks into your daily planner to focus on what matters most today.

💻 On Web/Desktop

  • Click "Add to My Day" from the task or quick actions menu.

  • Or open My Day and add from there.

📱 On Android/iOS

  • Open the task and tap the same icon.

  • Or open My Day and tap "+" to add a board task.

⚡ How to Use Quick Actions (Web/Desktop Only)

Quick actions help you manage tasks instantly—without even opening the task view.

Right-click a task or use the 3-dot menu to:

Available options are:

  • Add to My Day - will send the task to your My Day display.

  • Comment - will open the Activity section for that specific task to add your comment.

  • Due Date - quickly set a preferred due date.

  • Assign - choose from any of the board members for quick-assignment.

  • Tags - choose from any of the board's tags to add to your task.

  • Duplicate - recreate the same task in another board/section.

  • Copy link - Get a quick link for your task to share with other members.

  • Archive - quickly archive redundant items.

Note: At this time the quick actions are available on web only.

📃 Can I move a personal task into a board?

Yes. You can convert a personal task into a board task via the Web or Desktop apps. See instructions here.

❌ Can free or Premium users create board tasks?

No. Board tasks are only available for Family and Workspace members.

❓ What happens when I archive a board task?

Archived tasks are removed from your board view but can be restored later. Learn more in this guide.

🚀 Can I add a due date or tag when creating a task?

Yes! Smart Type (natural language) options appear above the input bar and also detected automatically. Learn more here.

📲 Can I manage tasks offline?

You can create and edit board tasks offline, but changes will sync only once you're reconnected.
