๐ŸŽจ How to Modify Calendar Colors

Colors help you quickly identify which calendar an event belongs to. Each calendar in Any.do is assigned one color, used across all events from that calendar. This color can be controlled from your native calendar app on mobile, or via your native calendar client for web/desktop.

๐Ÿ“ฑ On iOS

  • Open your native calendar app

  • Tap the โ€˜iโ€™ icon next to the calendar name

  • Choose a color (Google/Outlook/iCloud-specific)

๐Ÿ“ฑ On Android

  1. Open your native calendar app (Google, Outlook, or any other calendar app).

  2. Open the calendars menu.

  3. Under settings, choose 'manage calendar colors' and select your preference

๐Ÿ’ป On Web & Desktop

The Web/Desktop apps sync the calendar colors from the native calendar-clients which you've integrated to Any.do (Google/Outlook/iCloud). To change these colors, please follow the instructions below according to your specific calendar-client:

๐ŸŽจ Currently, individual events cannot be color-coded. Colors apply per calendar only.

โญ How to Set the Default Calendar

Your default calendar is where all new events will be saved by default.

๐Ÿ“ฑ On Android

  • Open Any.do app โ†’ Settings

  • Tap Default Calendar

  • Select your preferred calendar

๐Ÿ“ฑ ๐Ÿ’ป On iOS & Web/Desktop

  • The default calendar is automatically set to the last calendar used when creating an event

โœ… Events can be moved to another calendar after creation, depending on permissions.

๐Ÿ“† Customizing Calendar Start Day & Weekend Display

Set the first day of your week and choose whether weekends are shown in the Calendar View.

๐Ÿ“ฑ On Android & iOS

  • Tap the โ‹ฎ menu (top right in Calendar View) โ†’ Settings

  • Tap Week starts on โ†’ Choose Sunday, Monday, or Saturday

โ›ฑ๏ธ Weekend visibility is available on Web/Desktop only.

โœ… Showing or Hiding Personal and Shared Tasks

For Family and Workspace users, the Calendar View supports both personal tasks and shared board tasks. You can choose which to show.

๐Ÿ’ป On Web & Desktop

  • In Calendar View, click My Calendar (left panel)

  • Toggle ON/OFF:

    • Personal Tasks

    • Workspace Tasks

๐Ÿคซ This setting is currently only available on desktop platforms.

๐Ÿ”” Managing Calendar Notifications

Stay on track with timely alerts for your upcoming events. Notifications are handled by both the app and your device.

๐Ÿ“ฑ On Android & iOS

  • Calendar notifications are sent if app permissions are granted

  • To disable:

    • Open Device Settings โ†’ Apps โ†’ Any.do โ†’ Permissions โ†’ Turn off Calendar and Notifications

๐Ÿ’ป On Web & Desktop

  • Go to Any.do Settings

  • Under Desktop Notifications, toggle ON or OFF

๐Ÿšซ Disabling notifications will mute all Any.do alerts, not just calendar-related ones.

๐Ÿ™‹ FAQs

๐ŸŽจ Can I color-code individual events?

Not at this time. Calendar colors apply per calendar, not per event.

๐Ÿ‘€ Why canโ€™t I see a specific calendar?

It may not be integrated. Youโ€™ll need to connect your calendar for it to appear in your visible calendars list.

โ›” Why donโ€™t some tasks appear in my calendar?

Only personal and assigned board tasks with due dates/reminders will appear in the calendar view. If youโ€™re not assigned to a shared task, you wonโ€™t see the task in the Calendar View. If a task has no reminder date/due date or is under Someday it will not show in the calendar view.

๐Ÿ”• Do I have to allow calendar notifications?

We recommend it. Disabling permissions may block all notifications, not just calendar alerts.

๐Ÿ—“ Can I hide weekends on mobile?

No. Weekend visibility can only be toggled on Web/Desktop.
