Resetting your Any.do password and recovering account access

Forgot your password or cannot access your account? Follow these steps to reset your Any.do password and get back in safely.

It happens to everyone. If you forgot your Any.do password or you are stuck on the login screen, you can usually recover access in a few minutes. This article walks you through the safest ways to reset your password on mobile and desktop. It also explains what to do if you used Google, Facebook, or Apple to sign up, or if you no longer have access to the email on your account.

🧾 Before you start

A few quick checks prevent the most common recovery issues.

  • Any.do accounts are linked to one email address.

  • If you signed up with Google, Facebook, or Apple, you can always keep using that same sign-in option to access your account.

  • Resetting your Any.do password is mainly helpful if you want to log in using Email, or if you need a password for certain profile changes.

🔁 Reset your password from the login screen

Use this option when you cannot log in and you need to set a new password.

📱 Reset from the login screen on iOS or Android

  1. Open Any.do.

  2. On the login screen, select Email by tapping the envelope icon.

  3. Enter the email address connected to your Any.do account.

  4. Tap Continue.

  5. Tap Forgot password.

  6. Follow the email instructions to set a new password.

💻 Reset from the login screen on Web or Desktop

  1. Open Any.do.

  2. Enter the email address connected to your Any.do account.

  3. Click Continue.

  4. Click Forgot password.

  5. Follow the email instructions to set a new password.

🔐 Password note: Your new password must be at least 6 characters.


⚙️ Reset your password while you are logged in

Use this option when you can access your account but want to change your password.

📱 Reset while logged in on iOS or Android

  1. Open Any.do.

  2. Open any list or board.

  3. Tap the 3-dot menu (top right).

  4. Tap Settings.

  5. Tap Profile.

  6. Tap Reset password.

  7. Follow the email instructions to set a new password.

💻 Reset while logged in on Web or Desktop

  1. Open Any.do.

  2. Open Settings.

  3. Select Profile.

  4. Select Reset password.

  5. Follow the email instructions to set a new password.


🧩 If you signed up with Google, Facebook, or Apple

If you created your account with Google, Facebook, or Apple, you can always keep using that same button to log in.

If you want to also create an Any.do password (for example, to log in with Email or to support certain profile changes), try this:

  1. Go to the login screen and choose Email.

  2. Enter the email address connected to your Any.do account.

  3. Select Forgot password.

Important notes:

  • If you used Apple “Hide My Email,” your Any.do account is linked to Apple’s private relay email. You will need to use that relay email for the password reset.

  • If you are unsure which email is linked to your account, check Settings → Profile on a device where you are already logged in.


📩 I did not receive the password reset email

Use these steps if the reset email does not arrive.

  1. Check Spam, Promotions, and Trash.

  2. Search your inbox for [email protected].

  3. Search for the subject line “Any.do” or “password”.

  4. If you find it in Spam, mark it as Not spam so future emails arrive normally.

🚪 I no longer have access to the email on my account

If you cannot open the email inbox connected to your Any.do account, password reset may not work.

Please contact support and include:

  • The email address that used to be connected to the account (if you remember it)

  • Any other email addresses you may have used

  • The sign-in method you think you used (Email, Google, Facebook, Apple)

🧠 If your account looks empty after logging in

This usually happens when you log in with a different email address or a different sign-in method.

  1. Go to Settings → Profile and confirm the email address on the account.

  2. Log out and log back in using the same sign-in method you used originally.

A similar scenario can also happen if you previously used a Family or Workspace plan (including a trial) and that plan was canceled or expired. In that case, your shared space and its content will be locked until the plan is renewed. Your information is still there, but access is restricted until the subscription becomes active again.

📩 I tapped “Forgot password” but nothing arrived. What should I do?

Try the steps in I did not receive the password reset email above. If it still does not arrive, contact support: Any.do Contact Form.

🔐 I signed up with Google or Apple. Do I even have an Any.do password?

Not always. If you usually sign in with Google, Facebook, or Apple, you may not have created an Any.do password yet. In many cases you can create one by using Forgot password with the email linked to your account.

🍏 I used Sign in with Apple and now I cannot log in. What should I do?

First, make sure you are using Sign in with Apple (not Email) and that you are using the same Apple ID you used when registering. If you used Hide My Email, you may see a private relay email in Settings → Profile.

🔏 I think someone accessed my account. What should I do?

Reset your Any.do password and also secure your email account. If you cannot log in, contact support: Any.do Contact Form.

🧩 Can support send me my password?

No. For security reasons, passwords are not shared. You can reset your password using Forgot password, or contact support if you cannot access your email for a direct link after a short verification process.

🔒 My Family or Workspace trial ended and now my boards look missing or locked. Did I lose my data?

No. When a Family or Workspace subscription is canceled or expires, the shared space and its content will be locked until the plan is renewed. If this happened, we recommend renewing the plan to regain full access.
