Didn’t get around to finishing a task on time? No problem - Any.do marks these tasks as overdue so they stay visible until you’re ready to take action. Whether you're rescheduling or completing them later, it’s easy to stay on top of everything that slipped through the cracks.

πŸ”Ž What Are Overdue Tasks?

A task is marked as overdue when it has a due date or reminder that has already passed and has not yet been completed. Overdue tasks will automatically appear:

  • Under the Today section in the Task View

  • In red in the Calendar View (mobile only)

They can be rescheduled manually or through Any.do Moment on mobile.

πŸ“± On Mobile (Android & iOS)

  • Open your Task View β†’ Look under Today. Overdue tasks will appear without an active reminder.

  • Open the Calendar View β†’ Scroll to today's date β†’ Overdue tasks will appear in red.

πŸ’» On Web/Desktop

  • Overdue tasks will appear under Today in your Task View. Overdue tasks will appear without an active reminder.

  • Within the calendar view, overdue tasks will show as greyed out and you may easily drag and drop them to future dates.


✍️ Rescheduling Overdue Tasks

You can change the due date of an overdue task from any view where the task appears.

  1. Tap the task to open its details

  2. Edit the reminder or due date

  3. Save the changes

  2. Change the reminder/due date using the calendar picker

πŸ“† Using Any.do Moment for Overdue Tasks

Any.do Moment is a daily planning tool that helps you quickly reassign overdue tasks. It is based on the Today view so all tasks (current and overdue) will be displayed in the Moment screen for quick-rescheduling.

  1. Tap the 3-dot menu in Task View

  2. Tap Plan My Day

  3. Review your overdue tasks one by one

  4. Choose to reschedule to: Tomorrow, In 2 Days, Next Week, or Someday

πŸ”† Handling Overdue Tasks in My Day

Overdue tasks will be cleared from the My Day screen at the end of each day unless you pin them to your view. To keep specific tasks in My Day:

  • Pin the task manually, or

  • Reschedule it using the calendar picker so you will see it in your My Day suggestions in the following day.

πŸ”΄ Why is my task marked in red?

This means the task is overdue (it was not completed by its due date or time).

πŸ“† How can I remove the overdue status?

Edit the task’s reminder or due date to a future time, or complete the task.

πŸ”” Will I get notified again for overdue tasks?

No. You will not receive additional reminders unless you edit the task’s due date or add a new reminder.

πŸ“± Can I use Moment to clear overdue tasks?

Yes. On mobile, use Any.do Moment to quickly reschedule or dismiss overdue items.

πŸ—“οΈ Can I view overdue tasks on the Web Calendar?

Yes. Overdue tasks will show as greyed-out in the Calendar View on Web/Desktop and you may easily drag and drop them to future dates.
