Task Views: List/Board View, All Tasks & 7 Days View

A simple guide to the main screens where you view, sort, and manage tasks in Any.do

Updated today

In Any.do, tasks live in two main places: personal lists (your own to-dos) and shared Workspace/Family boards (projects you work on with family or a team). The views in this article are the main screens you will use to see those tasks, sort them, and decide what to work on next.

If you are looking for Calendar screens, those are explained separately in our Calendar & Planning articles. Looking for import/export or printing options? Check out these articles.

πŸ§‘β€πŸ€β€πŸ§‘ Viewing board tasks in All Tasks and 7 Days

If you are a Family or Workspace member, you can view your assigned tasks from your shared boards in the All Tasks/7 Days views.

πŸ‘€ Assigned tasks only

When you switch to the Family/Workspace view:

  • All Tasks and 7 Days show only board tasks assigned to you

  • They do not show unassigned board tasks

  • They do not show tasks assigned to other members

πŸ” How to switch between personal tasks and board tasks (Web and Desktop)

Next to the view title (for example, All Tasks or Next 7 Days), use the toggle to switch between:

  • My Lists (personal tasks)

  • Your Space (board tasks assigned to you)

πŸ”€ Sorting and filtering

This is the most important thing to know:

  • List View and All Tasks do not automatically organize tasks by date/time.

  • They only show the Today, Tomorrow, Upcoming, Someday sections when you switch the view to Time sorting.

  • If you switch the view to List sorting, those sections disappear and you can manually order tasks instead.

  • The 7 Days View will only show tasks with reminders/due dates within the next 7 days. Tasks from under the 'Someday' sections in your lists will not show here as they do not have an assigned date.

πŸ•’ Time sorting: Today, Tomorrow, Upcoming, Someday

When you switch to Time sorting, your tasks are grouped into fixed sections:

  • Today: due today or overdue

  • Tomorrow: due tomorrow

  • Upcoming: due later (not today or tomorrow)

  • Someday: no due date or reminder

Important notes about these sections:

  • You cannot edit these sections. You cannot rename them, remove them, or add new sections.

  • Tasks move automatically between sections as their due dates get closer.

  • If you want a task to stay without a date, add it under Someday.

  • After adding a new task or changing items in these views, the view will revert back to manual ordering. If you want the Today/Tomorrow/Upcoming/Someday sections to sort by time again, simply reapply Time sorting.

πŸ’‘ Looking for a chronological view of your tasks? Check out the Calendar Views instead.

πŸ“Œ List sorting: manual ordering

If you prefer manual ordering, switch to List sorting.

  • This removes the Today/Tomorrow/Upcoming/Someday sections.

  • It lets you manually reorder tasks the way you want.

🧰 Extra filters (Web and Desktop)

On Web and Desktop, you can also use the Filter menu to narrow down tasks (for example, by due date range, list, tag, or status). Learn all about board filters here. Learn all about list filters here.

πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈ FAQs

🧭 Why don’t I see Today, Tomorrow, Upcoming, and Someday?

You will only see Today, Tomorrow, Upcoming, and Someday when you switch the view to Time sorting. If you switch to List sorting, those sections are removed so you can manually order tasks.

πŸ” Why do my tasks move between Today, Tomorrow, and Upcoming?

In Time sorting, tasks are grouped by their due date. As the due date gets closer, tasks move automatically from Upcoming to Tomorrow, and then to Today.

πŸ’€ How do I keep a task without a date?

Add the task under Someday. Someday tasks have no due date or reminder.

🧷 How do I keep manual ordering instead of time sections?

Switch the view to List sorting. This removes the Today/Tomorrow/Upcoming/Someday sections and lets you order tasks manually.

πŸ—“οΈ Why don’t Someday tasks show in 7 Days?

The 7 Days view only shows tasks with a due date or reminder within the next 7 days (and overdue). Tasks without dates (Someday) are not included.

πŸ‘€ Why can’t I see all board tasks in All Tasks or 7 Days?

In Family and Workspace spaces, All Tasks and 7 Days show only board tasks assigned to you. Unassigned tasks or tasks assigned to other members will not appear in these views.

✏️ Can I edit the Today/Tomorrow/Upcoming/Someday categories?

Not at this time. These are preset categories that cannot be changed. If you wish to create your own timeline for tasks, we recommend the custom views for board tasks or creating a board with custom sections.
