Personal tasks in Any.do can be Active, Completed (swiped), Archived or Deleted. While active and completed items will be available in your active lists, Archived items will be accessible via the Archived Tasks folder, from which they can be Deleted permanently. These statuses will help you to easily manage and track your progress while working on action items from your various lists.
Availability
The following user-types can take advantage of this feature:
Personal users (free).
Premium users.
Family users.
Teams users.
The feature is available on both our mobile and web/desktop apps.
π οΈ How does it work?
All personal tasks from your standard lists will fall under one of these categories - Active, Completed (swiped in your active lists), Archived (in the Completed Tasks folder) or Deleted (no longer visible in the account).
Archiving and completing tasks can be done from the Tasks View or via the Task Menu.
Completed tasks can be exported via the desktop apps so users always have their record.
Note: This feature is not applicable for Smart Grocery Lists.
β To complete a personal-task (swipe)
Swiping personal tasks will will indicate the execution of those tasks, moving them down in your lists and render those items as 'completed'. These tasks will no longer get reminders and show as completed in your collective views.

Tap on the circle on the left side of the task or swipe it from left to right.
You can open the Task Details Menu and press the top left 3 dots menu- and tap on "Mark as complete".
π‘ Note: you can complete tasks from the calendar view as well by tapping on the circle on the left side of the task.
Note: Swiped tasks are inactive and can no longer be edited unless reactivated.
π To retrieve a completed (swiped) personal-task
If you're looking to reactivate a swiped (completed) personal task, you can easily do so per the instructions below. Once the task has been reactivated you can modify its details as needed.
β To archive a single swiped personal-task
Once a personal task is completed you may choose to keep it in your active lists for visibility/record purposes. However, if the item is no longer needed you can easily clear it (making space for new items) per the details below.
ποΈ To archive all swiped personal tasks
If you have multiple swiped (completed) personal tasks, you can easily remove them altogether in a few simple steps, sending them to your Archived Tasks folder.

Tap on to open the options menu.
Click on "Clear" to move all completed tasks to the Completed Tasks folder.
Alternatively -
Simply shake the device to instantly clear all swiped tasks from your active lists. Be sure this option is enabled from the app's Settings first.
π’ To view all archived personal tasks and count
Any personal tasks that were removed (archived) from your lists, can be easily found in your app's Settings for reviewing, restoring and taking count.
On the web app, all archived tasks will also show stats such as the number of completed tasks for the current day/ the current week/ all-time.
π To restore an archived personal-task
Accidentally archived a personal task? No worries! You can easily reactivate it to continue viewing it in your active lists and edit as needed.
π€ To export all archived personal-tasks
With Any.do, you may easily receive a copy of all of your archived tasks straight to your email from the Web/Desktop apps. To do so, simply log into any of the desktop apps and follow the instructions below:
Note: At this time, exporting archived personal tasks can only be done via the web/desktop apps.
β To delete all archived personal tasks
We highly recommend clearing your Archived Tasks folder from time to time to ensure the app's sync process is not affected by a high volume of inactive tasks.
Note: Any.do was created for productivity, not storage so keeping a large amount of inactive tasks might lead to some technical issues.
