Whether it's a daily medication or a monthly credit card payment - repetitive tasks are easier to handle with Any.do's recurring reminders. Setting up a recurring reminder is simple and efficient-- eliminating the need to set up multiple reminders for the same task.

The following user-types can take advantage of this feature:
Personal users (free).
Premium users.
Family users.
Teams users.
The feature is available on both our mobile and web/desktop apps.
🛠️ How does it work?
Recurring reminders are set from the task menu only and can't be set from the quick add bar.
Make sure that the task at hand does not already have a one-time reminder setup. If it does, tap the Delete option in order to remove it and after that, you will be able to set a recurring reminder.
As soon as you complete a recurring item, the next occurrence will pop up at the next scheduled reminder time.
💡 Note: Premium users can also set Advanced Recurring reminders: Choose the amount of days/weeks/months between each repetition, decide which days a weekly reminder recurs and plan the dates when the reminder starts and ends.

Recurring reminders are a free feature available for all users within their personal space (in their personal tasks). Get a full overview of this feature and all available function below.
🔄 To set a recurring reminder
To add a recurring reminder to any of your personal tasks simply follow the steps below:

Select the task to open its Task Menu.
If the task already has a one-time reminder setup tap the Delete option in order to remove it.
Under 'Remind Me' choose 'Recurring/ Repeat'
Choose the start time and frequency for your recurring task.
If you're setting an Advanced Recurring Reminder, you may also choose the end time for the recurrence, the intervals of time to be reminded at and the length of reminder's duration.

Select the task to open its Task Menu.
If the task already has a one-time reminder setup tap the Delete option in order to remove it.
Under 'Remind Me' choose 'Recurring/ Repeat'

📆 To view the next occurence
After adding a recurring reminder to any of your personal tasks, in your Task Views and Calendar View only the first recurrence will show.
As soon as you complete a recurring item, the next occurrence will pop up at the next scheduled reminder time.
Note: Recurrences require completion in order to generate the next items. The next items will not automatically show in your views as they will be generated one by one after each task has been completed.
If you complete the task multiple times on the same day you will miss the next reminders and skip the amount of times you completed the task.
✍️ To edit a recurring reminder
If you need to edit your recurring-reminders for your personal tasks, you may simply opt to do so from the task menu as detailed below:
🔕 To disable a recurring reminder’s notification
Recurring reminders for personal tasks can be set with or without a notification. By default return reminders will always show with a notification however if you do not require this kind of notification you may simply disable it as detailed below:

If a personal task no longer requires a recurring reminder you can easily switch the reminder type to any of the other available options per the details below:

Select the task to open its Task Menu.
Tap on your current reminder to open the date and time screen.
Choose the ‘trash’ icon or "Clear" to remove the current reminder.
Tap the option you would like to switch to.
Set your reminder time and date(s) or location (for Premium mobile users).
Tap ‘Set’ and ‘Save’.

Advance recurring reminders are available for Premium users, Workspace users and Family users within their personal space (for personal tasks). This feature adds an extra layer of productivity by offering multiple advanced options to your recurring items. Scroll down for a deep dive.

Any.do's Premium / Family / Team can plan recurring tasks, to repeat at different intervals. These advanced features include being able to:
Choose the date on which the repetition ends.
Choose the amount of days/ weeks/ months / years between each reminder.
Choose the amount of repetitions for each reminder.

By setting an Advanced Weekly reminder, you can decide on which days each week the reminder will repeat and the intervals per number of weeks. You also have the option to choose the task's start date and end date. You can choose to apply only one of these settings, or all.

Select the task to open its Task Menu.
If the task already has a one-time reminder setup tap the Delete option in order to remove it.
Under ‘Remind Me’ choose ‘Recurring/ Repeat’
Choose the repeat option to set recurring tasks: Daily / weekly / Monthly / Yearly.
Tap on "Starts on" to choose the start time. Click "ok" to save.
Tap on "Repeat every" to choose the frequency for your recurring reminder. Click "Set" to save.
Choose the end time for the recurrence- by toggling off "Task never ends", and selecting the end date ("Ends on") or total number of repetitions ("Ends after"). When "Task never ends" is toggled on, the reminders will continue to appear until they are deleted.
Click "Save" to save the reminder.

Choose the "Daily" repeat option.
Edit the "Starts on" date and time for your reminder.
Set the reminder to repeat in intervals using the "Repeats every" option.

To set an Advanced Recurring Reminder for a specific day of the week
Choose the "Weekly" recurrence option.
Under "Repeats on", choose the specific day(s) for the reminder.
Select when the repetition will stop by toggling off "Tasks never ends", and setting the Ends on/ Ends after.
To set an Advanced recurring reminder for every other week
Choose the "Weekly" recurrence option.
Under "Repeat every", choose "2 weeks".
Select when the repetition will stop by toggling off "Tasks never ends", and setting the Ends on/ Ends after.

Choose the "Monthly" recurrence option.
Under "Repeat by", choose "Day of the month". You can also set the reminder for 'Once a month, on every first Sunday' (or similar), by choosing "Day of the week" on this option.
Select when the repetition will stop by toggling off "Tasks never ends", and setting the Ends on/ Ends after.
