Working with Action Icons

Set quick actions for your personal tasks!

Updated over a week ago

Action icons are an easy way to execute tasks related to your contacts. When you add a new task starting with 'Call', 'Email' or 'Text' a suggestions menu with relevant contacts will appear below the text box. These are the Any.do 'action icons' which are there to help you automate your tasks.

Availability:

  • Personal users (free).

  • Premium users.

  • Family users.

  • Teams users.

  • Supported on iOS and Android only.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ How does it work?

  • Upon choosing one of the action words and then typing the name of one of your existing device-contacts, an action icon will appear to the right of your task.

  • Hitting this icon will perform the action you have chosen in the context of your task. For example, if you write "Call Mom", pressing the action icon will call Mom. If you write "Email Dad", it will create an email with Dad as the recipient, allowing you to add your own content before sending.

  • On the Android app, the reminders will also feature these icons for fast execution.

  • Action icons can only be added when adding tasks via the + icon and via the quick add bar.

Note: In order for the action icons to work, you will need to allow the app to access your contacts. Your contacts must also contain the specific details required to perform the actions (such as a valid number/email address)
