Syncing and backing up your Any.do account ensures that your tasks and events are always up-to-date and accessible across all your devices. With automatic sync and backup features, you can effortlessly manage your schedule 24/7, from any device or platform you own. Setting up these features is simple and helps safeguard your data, making sure you never miss an important task or event.
🦾 Automatic Sync
Any.do’s automatic sync keeps your tasks and account data updated across all your devices without any extra effort. As long as you're connected to the internet, changes made and saved on one device will be reflected on all others in real-time. This means you can seamlessly switch between your phone, tablet, and computer, always having the latest version of your schedule at hand. Automatic sync is enabled by default, ensuring that your data is always current and synchronized, providing a hassle-free experience in managing your personal, family and workspace tasks.
As to events, these will sync according to your calendar-client and device settings. This means that at times there might be some delay as we receive the calendar information from your client, however you can opt to manually sync your app as detailed here for an immediate sync.
🔧 Manual Sync
Sometimes you might need to manually sync your Any.do data to ensure everything is up-to-date. Manual sync is helpful in scenarios where automatic sync might not catch recent changes due to connectivity issues. It’s a quick and simple process that ensures your tasks and events are current across all your devices. Here’s how you can manually sync your data on both mobile and desktop platforms:
✅ To manually sync tasks and account data
Our app syncs in real time on both desktop and mobile. However, if you lost your connection or would like to initiate an immediate sync of your data (excluding calendar events), you can easily do so according to the details below.
📅 To manually sync calendar events
When adding calendar events through the app, you will immediately see them in you Calendar Views and in your native calendar client. However, when adding events through different platforms or directly from your calendar client, the app may take some time to update (usually no longer than a few seconds), depending on your platform.
If you want to initiate an immediate sync, check out the details below per your preferred platform.
📱 To manually sync calendar events on Android/ iOS
📱 To manually sync calendar events on Android/ iOS
On the mobile apps, the calendar syncs directly via your native calendar app. As such, depending on your device's settings and background-sync preferences, it may take time for the app to sync new events that were created through other platforms/your native calendar client.
To launch an immediate sync, simply open your device's native calendar app and make sure it fully syncs all current events. Then, open Any.do to view all items reflecting in the app 🤓
Note: The calendar integration must be set on each device separately in order for you to view the same events on all platforms.
🔄 Syncing tasks and events across different platforms
All you need to do in order to sync your account's data and tasks across all platforms/new devices is to log-in with the same account credentials.
💻 To log-in and sync your account on Web/desktop
💻 To log-in and sync your account on Web/desktop
Launch the Any.do on your desktop device or via the web app (at https://app.any.do/).
Choose the same log-in option as you did when initially creating your account (email/Facebook/Google/Apple).
Enter and verify your credentials to access your account's data.
For calendar and events, in order to show the same exact calendars and events on all platforms, the calendar integration must be set on each device separately. If you're seeing different events/calendars in one device, this probably means that you haven't integrated it with the same calendar accounts. In this case just go through the integration steps to ensure the same calendar events are reflected on all platforms.
💾 Account Back Up
With Any.do, there’s no need to worry about backing up your account manually. As long as you’re working online, your data is always synced and saved on Any.do’s servers, accessible from all supported platforms. This ensures that your tasks and events are safe and available whenever you need them.
However, if you need a hard copy of your data, you can always export your items. For more details on how to export your data, check out this article.
🔌 Working offline
Any.do is designed to sync your account’s data in real-time, 24/7. For successful syncing, we highly recommend always working online from any of your devices.
However, if you open the app and lose your connection, you can still view your tasks and add new items. Just keep the app open so that once you regain connection, all items can safely sync to our servers. Note that while offline, the app may not retrieve the most up-to-date tasks and will not save changes until you’re back online. We advise against working offline for extended periods to prevent data loss.
Note: There is no option to save data locally on any of the supported devices. As such, make sure that you always sync your app by always working online or manually syncing after major updates.

🗓️ Why am I seeing different events/calendars on different devices?
This is probably since you have different calendars integrated on each of your devices 🙂 Be advised that the Calendar Integration must be applied separately on each device in order to see the same events. Adding a calendar on one device will not sync the events to other devices as well. Please go through the integration steps on each of your devices to ensure the same calendars are connected across all platforms.
