Start managing your projects and team by creating your first board!

A board is a place where you can manage and direct a specific project or team. It is built from sections and tasks that allow you to create custom workflows for your specific needs within a classic Kanban-style view. The boards were designed for quick and easy assimilation into your team's workflow and can be easily created from any of our built-in templates to jumpstart your work. They can also be created entirely from scratch using a blank board and saved as a custom template.

Availability:

The following user-types can take advantage of this feature:

  • Family users - admins and members.

  • Teams users - admins and members.

The feature is available on both our mobile and web/desktop apps (functionality-based, see below).

πŸ› οΈ How does it work?

  • Boards can be created by space admins and members

  • Boards can be created from a template or from blank (allowing for a custom display)

  • Boards are created with separate permission-levels (outside the workspace permissions)

  • The creator of the board will be set as its admin and can assign different permission-levels as needed

  • Within each board, users can create custom sections to better divide their workload

  • All non-private boards will be part of the space directory (available for viewing by all space members)

  • Boards can be public – shareable with external users (who might not own an Any.do account).

  • Boards can be saved as custom templates for reusable content

Note: Workspace (Teams) users can set boards to private-mode for single or multiple users.


πŸ†• To create a new board (from blank/template)

  1. From the left side under the space press + "Add new board" or the gray + next to the space name.

  2. Select "Create a board".

  3. Name your Board.

  4. Choose a template or press β€œCreate a blank board” on the top right.

πŸ’‘ You can save the board as a custom template or browse saved and premade templates. To learn more see our "Board Templates" page.

  1. From the home menu press the gray + under to the space name.

  2. Select "Create a board".

  3. Name your Board.

  4. Add members or press "Next".

  5. Name your first section.


πŸ”Ž To open/view a specific board

  • From the left side menu, under your space's title, simply click on the board you wish to view.

πŸ’‘ If you're looking for a specific shared board that you haven't yet been added to, try searching for it through the boards-directory.

  • Press the Home icon on the lower left corner of your screen.

  • Choose the board

πŸ”ƒ To convert a personal list into a board

  1. Open the list.

  2. Click on the three dots menu next to the title.

  3. Select "Convert to board".

Note: You can convert Smart Grocery lists into Boards as well.


πŸ”’To create a private board

  1. When creating a board, toggle "Make private" from the bottom

  2. If the board was created as a public board -> Open the 3 dots menu -> Select "Make Private".

Workspace users (not included in Family) can set boards to private mode for single or multiple users. For more information check out the private board page.

✍️ To rename a board

  1. Open the board

  2. Tap on the board name

  3. Edit the name


πŸ˜‰ To add an emoji to your board's title

For easy categorization/viewing, board admins can add an emoji next to their board's title that will help distinguish the board from others and allow easy detection. This can be extremely useful for spaces with a large amount of boards. To add your widget, simply:

  1. Open the board

  2. Click on the 3 line icon next to its title.

  3. Choose your preferred emoji (you may also opt to search for a specific item).

πŸ’‘ The emoji will show in your left side menu, alongside the board's title, for all members to see.


πŸ–₯️ To change the layout of the board (desktop)

  1. Open the 3 dots menu.

  2. Select "Compact" to see more tasks per column.

Workspace users (not included in Family) can change the layout of board tasks. But Family users can change it for the All Tasks or Next 7 Days view.

  • From the left side menu, under your space's title, simply click on the board and drag and drop it to another location.

  • From the Home menu.

  • Drag and drop the board to another location.
