How Notifications Work: Permissions, Sounds, Daily Push, Snooze

Set the right permissions, sounds, and timing so reminders land exactly when you need them

Updated this week

Never miss a beat. This guide shows how to turn notifications on, choose sounds and badges, use the once‑a‑day Daily Push on mobile, and snooze reminders when life gets busy. Think: a ping to review your day at 9 AM, a gentle sound on phone for your bill reminder, or a quick Snooze when you are entering a meeting.

App notifications are available to all user types (free/Premium/Family/Workspace) on all supported devices (with slight variations per platform compatibility).

🛑 Turn off notifications (your way)

Keep the alerts you want and mute the rest.

🔔 Turn off a task’s reminder

Each reminder set via the app (whether automatically or by the user), will have a sound notifications as well as push notification shown at the due time (on Android, users can also get the pop-up reminder). • Open the task.

  • Tap the reminder to edit.

  • Toggle Reminder off.

  • The reminder time and date will then appear as 'due date', though you can opt to delete that as well.

  • Click the reminder.

  • Toggle Reminder off.

  • The reminder time and date will then appear as 'due date', though you can opt to delete that as well.

🙋 FAQs

🔔 Do I need notifications enabled in both the app and the phone settings?

Reminders and in-app notification settings can be set directly through the app. However, you must allow permissions through your device settings in order to receive alerts reliably.

🔇 Why is there no sound notification on my computer?

Desktop sounds are managed by your operating system. Some setups are silent by design, but pop‑up banners still appear if your browser allows notifications.

📍 Can I get location reminders and Daily Push together?

Yes. Location reminders are separate from the Daily Push. You can keep both on mobile and use them for different needs.

📣 Can I get email updates instead of push?

Yes. In Workspace, you can set board email alerts on Web/Desktop for instant, daily, or weekly digests.
