Managing Board Tasks

Everything you need to know about collaborative tasks

The Board Tasks have everything you need in order to document a task so you can easily collaborate with your team or simply track for progress. No matter how complex any of your action items are, you will be able to add all needed context through various features such as: Notes, Assignees, Due Dates, Checklists and more.

Availability:

  • Teams users - admins and members.

  • Family users - admins and members.

  • Supported on all platforms (functionality-based, see below).


πŸ› οΈ How does it work?

  • You can add board tasks to each and every one of your board sections

  • Tasks can be edited by all active members

  • Tasks can be easily moved through different board sections

  • Tasks can be archived when no longer relevant

Note: Board guests and external users can only view items but cannot apply any actions. If needed there is an option to duplicate tasks for team users only.


πŸ†• To create a new board-task

πŸ’» Web/ Desktop

  1. Open a specific board from the left menu.

  2. Under each section press "+ Add tasks".

  3. Type in the title of the task.

  4. Press "Add".

πŸ’‘ You can also add a dues date\ assignee\ tag from the icons above the input.

πŸ“± Android/ iOS

To add a task to a specific section:

  1. Open a specific board from the home menu.

  2. Press the gray + icon next to the section title.

  3. Type in the title and press done\enter.

To add a task to the first section:

  1. Open a specific board from the home menu.

  2. On the bottom type in the title where you see "I want to..".

  3. Type in the title and press done\enter.


✍️ To edit or archive a board-task

πŸ’» Web/ Desktop

You can either:

  1. Open the task to edit it, or press the archive icon to archive it OR

  2. Press the 3 dot menu next to the task title and edit the task or to archive click on the archive icon.

πŸ“± Android/ iOS

  1. Open the task to edit it

  2. Tap on the 3 dots menu on the top left side

  3. Tap on "Archive task".


πŸ”€ To move a personal-task to a board

πŸ’» Web/ Desktop

  1. Open the Task's Menu.

  2. Click on the title of the list next to the reminder.

  3. Select the board in the "Move to..." pop-up.

OR

  1. Hover over the task in the list.

  2. Click on the three dots menu on the right.

  3. Select "Lists".

  4. Select the board in the "Move to..." pop-up.

Note: At this time, moving a personal-task to a board can only be done through the web/desktop apps.


‴️ To export board-tasks

πŸ“± Android/ iOS

  1. Right click a board-task or press the 3 dots menu next to the task title to view the quick actions.

  2. Tap on the printer icon to export the board as a PDF file.
    OR

  3. Tap on the share icon to export the board as a text.

Note: At this time, exporting board-tasks can only be done through the mobile apps.


πŸ”— To share a board-task (get a link)

  1. Right click a board-task or press the 3 dots menu next to the task title to view the quick actions.

  2. Select the 'copy link' option and a link to that specific task will be automatically copied to your clipboard.

  3. Now, you can share this link with any other members of that board for quick viewing.

Note: At this time, you can only get a link for your task on the web/desktop apps.


πŸ“‘ To duplicate board-tasks

πŸ’» Web/ Desktop

  1. Right click a board-task or press the 3 dots menu next to the task title to view the quick actions.

  2. Click the "Duplicate" option and -

    1. Select the board to which you would like to duplicate the task.

    2. Select the section to which you would like to duplicate the task.

  3. Done! Your task will be copied along with any notes/checklists to your preferred location.

Note: Duplicating tasks is available for board-tasks only (not for personal-tasks).

This feature is only supported for Team users not included in Family.


β†ͺ To move a task to a different section

You can either:

  • Drag and drop it to a different section

    OR

  • Open the task and tap on the arrow icon to change sections.


β†ͺ️ To import board tasks via copy-paste

πŸ’» Web/desktop

  1. Open the settings menu from the top left profile image\icon.

  2. Click "Import to Any.do".

  3. Select from "Clipboard".

  4. Paste.

  5. On the top select space/ board/ section.

Or

  1. Click on the input area of a board task.

  2. Paste one item or multiple items at once.

πŸ’‘ Note: You can select to paste multiple items at once, paste a list of items and click on "Add X tasks".


πŸ”† To add a board-task to My Day

πŸ’» Web/ Desktop

You can either:

  • Open the task and press the circle within a circle icon to add it to My Day

OR

  • Right click a board-task or press the 3 dots menu next to the task title to view the quick actions.

OR

  • Open My Day view from the left menu and add a task directly from there.

πŸ“± Android/ iOS

You can either:

  1. Open the task and Tap on Add to My Day with the circle within a circle icon

    OR

  2. Open My Day view from the home menu the bottom left option and add a task directly from there.

βš™οΈ To utilize the board-tasks' quick actions

πŸ’» Web/ Desktop

Right-click a board-task or press the 3 dots menu next to the task's title to see the quick-actions menu, from where you can easily set quick-actions without having to open the full task-view.

Available options are:

  • Add to My Day - will send the task to your My Day display.

  • Comment - will open the Activity section for that specific task to add your comment.

  • Due Date - quickly set a preferred due date.

  • Assign - choose from any of the board members for quick-assignment.

  • Tags - choose from any of the board's tags to add to your task.

  • Duplicate - recreate the same task in another board/section.

  • Copy link - Get a quick link for your task to share with other members.

  • Archive - quickly archive redundant items.

Note: At this time the quick actions are available on web only.
