App Navigation on Web, Desktop, iOS, and Android

A friendly tour of Any.do so you can find anything fast

Updated today

If you are new to Any.do, this article will help you get oriented.

Any.do is built around a simple idea: you should always know what to do next and be able to capture tasks in seconds. You can manage your own tasks in personal lists, and (on Family or Workspace plans) collaborate in shared boards for projects.

This guide explains:

  • Where your main views live

  • How to switch between personal lists and shared boards

  • Where to find search, settings, and your profile

πŸ‘₯ Who can use this?

  • Navigation basics are available for Free, Premium, Family, and Workspace users.

  • Boards and Spaces appear when you are a member of a Family or Workspace space.

πŸ“±πŸ’» Supported platforms

  • Web and Desktop

  • iOS and Android

🧭 The main parts of the app

No matter which device you use, Any.do is built around the same core areas:

  • My Day: Your daily planner. It helps you focus and prioritize what matters today.

  • Task Views: Screens like All Tasks and Next 7 Days that help you review and plan.

  • Calendar View: See your calendar events alongside your scheduled tasks in one timeline.

  • Personal lists: Your private to-dos, grouped the way you like.

  • Boards (Family and Workspace): Shared project spaces with tasks, sections, and collaboration.

  • Universal Search: Find tasks, lists, boards, tags, and more.

  • Task and event details: Open any task or event to add key details.

  • Settings and Profile: Manage your account, preferences, and app settings.

πŸ“± How navigation works on iOS and Android

On mobile, most navigation starts from the Home menu 🏠.

πŸ“Œ Where to find your main views

  • Open the Home menu to access key areas like My Day, All Tasks, and Next 7 Days.

  • Tap the Calendar tab when you want to see your events and scheduled tasks together.

  • Your personal lists appear in the same Home area.

  • If you are on Family or Workspace, your boards appear under your space.

βž• Where to add a task

You can add tasks from almost anywhere:

  • Use the Add task bar (or + button) in your current view.

  • Add tasks inside a specific list or board when you want them to land in the right place immediately.

πŸ” Where to search

  • Open the Home menu and use Search at the top to find tasks, lists, boards, tags, and more.

βš™οΈ Where to find settings and your profile

  • Open any view, then use the menu (three dots) to access Settings.

  • Inside Settings, you can update your Profile, preferences, and app options.

πŸ–₯️ How navigation works on Web and Desktop

On Web and Desktop, the main navigation is the left sidebar.

πŸ“Œ Where to find your main views

In the left sidebar, you will typically see:

  • My Day (focus on today)

  • My Calendar (events and scheduled tasks together)

  • All Tasks (everything in one place)

  • Next 7 Days (plan the week)

  • Your personal lists

  • Your Family/Workspace space and its boards (if applicable)

πŸ” Where to search

  • Use the Search icon (or search bar) to open Universal Search.

βš™οΈ Where to find settings and your profile

  • Use the settings icon or your profile area to open account settings.

πŸ§‘β€πŸ€β€πŸ§‘ Personal lists vs shared boards

It helps to know which β€œmode” you are in:

πŸ“ Personal lists (private)

  • Best for personal to-dos like errands, routines, and reminders.

  • Organized in list-based views.

  • Available for all user types (free, Premium, Family and Workspace).

πŸ“‹ Boards (Family and Workspace)

  • Best for shared projects like family planning, work projects, or team workflows.

  • Tasks can be assigned to people, and collaboration happens in one place.

  • Available to paid/trial users only (Workspace/Family plan).

Tip: If you cannot find a board, make sure you are looking under the correct space (Family or Workspace) in your Home menu (mobile) or left sidebar (Web/Desktop).

🧠 Key views you will use most

These are the core views that help you stay on top of tasks and time:

βœ… My Day

  • A dedicated daily planner tab that helps you choose what to focus on today.

πŸ“… Calendar View

  • A combined view of your calendar events and your scheduled tasks.

  • Useful when you want to plan around meetings, appointments, and time blocks.

πŸ“š All Tasks

  • Helps you review everything coming up.

  • In Family/Workspace, this view can also show board tasks assigned to you.

πŸ—“οΈ Next 7 Days

  • Helps you plan the upcoming week by day.

  • Only includes tasks with dates in the next 7 days.

  • In Family/Workspace, this view shows board tasks assigned to you.

For a deeper explanation of how task views work, see: Task Views: List/Board View, All Tasks & 7 Days View. For Calendar actions inside events, see Managing Events and Tasks in the Calendar View.

🧩 What you can do from any task or calendar event

When you open a task, you can:

  • Add a date or reminder

  • Add subtasks

  • Add notes

  • Add attachments

  • Move it to a different list (personal)

  • Update task details for collaboration (boards)

This is where Any.do becomes powerful: you can start with a simple task title, then add details only when you need them.

When you open a calendar event, you can also manage key event options such as:

  • Editing the event title and time

  • Adding invitees, a location, and notes

  • Setting recurrence and alerts

  • Joining video calls from event links

πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈ FAQs

🧭 Where should I start as a new user?

Start with My Day to focus on today, then use All Tasks to review everything coming up. Create 1–3 personal lists you actually use (for example: Personal, Work, Errands), and add tasks as you go. For our in-depth getting started guides, see here.

πŸ” I cannot find a task. Where should I look?

Use Universal Search first. If it is a board task, make sure you are in the correct Family/Workspace space.

πŸ‘₯ Why do I only see some board tasks in All Tasks or Next 7 Days?

In Family and Workspace, these views show board tasks assigned to you. They do not show unassigned tasks or tasks assigned to other members.

βš™οΈ Where do I change settings like notifications?

Open Settings from the menu (mobile) or the settings/profile area (Web/Desktop). Notification controls and other preferences live there.
