๐Ÿ” Who Can Use This Feature?

Spaces are part of the core Any.do experience, but the type of Space you can use depends on your plan:

  • Free: Includes your Personal Space only

  • Premium: Includes your Personal Space only with advanced personal capabilities

  • Family: Includes your Personal Space (with Premium features) and one shared Family Space

  • Workspace: Includes your Personal Space (with Premium features) and a shared Workspace

Spaces can be accessed from all supported Any.do platforms, including Web, Desktop, Android, and iOS.

๐Ÿงญ What Is a Space in Any.do?

A Space in Any.do is a dedicated area where tasks are organized based on how you work. Some Spaces are private and meant only for you, while others are shared so you can plan and manage work with other people.

Any.do includes three main types of Spaces:

  • Personal Space for your private everyday planning

  • Family Space for shared home and family collaboration

  • Workspace for team and project collaboration/advanced project management

Each Space has its own purpose, and keeping them separate makes it easier to stay organized.

๐Ÿ‘ค Personal Space in Any.do

Your Personal Space is the private area of your account. Every Any.do account includes a Personal Space by default, so this is where most users begin.

Inside your Personal Space, you can manage your Personal Lists and Personal Tasks without sharing them with anyone else. This makes Personal Space the best place for personal reminders, private errands, everyday planning, and individual goals.

What Personal Space is best for

Personal Space is ideal when you want to:

  1. Keep your tasks private

  2. Organize daily routines and reminders

  3. Manage errands, appointments, and personal planning

  4. Separate personal work from shared family or team projects

  5. Advanced to-do list capabilities with Any.do's Premium plan

Important note about Personal Space

Your Personal Space stays separate from your shared Spaces. Even if you are on a Family or Workspace plan, your Personal Space remains your own private area unless you intentionally move tasks into a shared board.

โค๏ธ Family Space in Any.do

A Family Space is a shared area designed for households that want to plan together. It gives family members a place to collaborate on common tasks, routines, and projects while still keeping each personโ€™s Personal Space separate.

With a Family plan, you can invite up to 4 members into the shared Family Space. Family members can work together on Boards, assign Board Tasks, and keep track of what needs to be done.

What Family Space is best for

Family Space is ideal when you want to:

  1. Share chores, errands, and grocery planning

  2. Coordinate schedules and responsibilities at home

  3. Manage school, activities, or household projects together

  4. Keep shared planning separate from each personโ€™s private tasks

What to keep in mind about Family Space

Each person in a Family Space still has their own Personal Space. The shared Family Space is simply the place where collaboration happens.

๐Ÿ’ผ Workspace in Any.do

A Workspace is a shared collaboration area built for teams, freelancers, and business workflows. It is designed for users who need more advanced project management, more members, and more shared boards.

With a Workspace plan, you can create collaborative environments for projects, clients, departments, or company-wide workflows. Workspace members can work together in boards, assign tasks, manage permissions, and organize more complex processes.

What Workspace is best for

Workspace is ideal when you want to:

  1. Collaborate with a team or clients

  2. Manage ongoing projects across multiple boards

  3. Assign work and track responsibilities

  4. Use advanced collaboration and admin tools

What to keep in mind about Workspace

Just like with Family, every Workspace member still keeps their own Personal Space. The Workspace is the shared environment for teamwork, while Personal Space stays private.

๐Ÿ”„ How Personal Space, Family Space, and Workspace work together

Understanding how these Spaces work together can make Any.do much easier to use. The simplest way to think about it is this:

  • Personal Space is for private planning

  • Family Space is for shared home and family planning

  • Workspace is for shared work and project planning

This separation helps you keep the right tasks in the right place. For example, a private doctor appointment belongs in your Personal Space, a grocery planning board belongs in Family Space, and a client project board belongs in Workspace.

๐Ÿšš Moving from Personal Space to a shared Space

If you start in Personal Space and later begin collaborating with others, you do not need to start over. Any.do makes it possible to move from private planning into shared planning more smoothly.

You can move from Personal Space into a Family Space or Workspace by doing the following:

  1. Create or join the shared Space that fits your needs

  2. Open the relevant Boards area inside that shared Space

  3. Convert or move relevant personal planning into shared board workflows where needed

  4. Keep private tasks in Personal Space and shared tasks in the shared Space

This approach helps you stay organized without mixing private and collaborative work.

๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™‚๏ธ FAQs

๐Ÿ‘ค What is the difference between Personal Space and Family Space?

The main difference is privacy and collaboration. Personal Space is private and meant only for your own Personal Tasks and Personal Lists. Family Space is shared and meant for collaboration with up to 4 family members on boards and shared tasks.

๐Ÿ’ผ What is the difference between Family Space and Workspace in Any.do?

The main difference is the intended use case and scale. Family is designed for households and smaller shared planning needs. Workspace is designed for professional collaboration, larger teams, and more advanced project workflows.
